Fairy House - lady birds
A gorgeous fairy house made from an ash tree log.
Hand turned on a lathe, the log has been shaped to resemble a small house with a mossy roof and a lush, green lawn. Red, yellow, blue and pink blooms are in abundance by the front door and in the flower beds at the bottom of the path. (Some have even made their way onto the roof!). A dozen tiny lady birds can be seen on the roof and base looking for food amongst the fauna.
The stone path leads to a lightbrown front door, with gold knob, whilst eight windows look out to the front gardens. The chimney in the centre of the roof (literally) tops off this wonderful home, which, with 3 floors of living space is sure to encourage a large fairy-family to move in to your garden!
All colour has been added using acrylic paints, but the central column has been left natural.
The bark has been left along the base and the lower portion of the roof, and 3 full coats of varnish have been added for protection.
Please note, this is a real wooden log which has been turned whilst 'green' (not thoroughly dried) and as such will change shape and/or crack over time. This is perfectly natural and only adds to the character of the piece. There is no guarantee of the amount of cracking which may take place - if this is something which may bother you please do not purchase.
This fairy house is already sporting several cracks (see pictures) which are not expected to get any worse once in the garden. It remains perfectly intact and solid.
